A rebbetzin is the wife of a rabbi. In many communities that's grown into its own role, teaching classes, counseling congregants, and running programs well beyond anything implied by simply being married to the rabbi. Some hold that title without a husband on the pulpit at all anymore, which tells you the word outgrew its original definition.
