Simchat Torah
Hebrewmarks finishing and restarting the Torah reading cycle
The holiday marking the end of Sukkot, when the annual cycle of Torah readings finishes at the last verse of Deuteronomy and starts right back up at the first verse of Genesis. Synagogues mark it by taking the Torah scrolls out and dancing with them, sometimes out into the street.
